Prevention program

Protective Adult

What if every child had an adult who knew what to do?

What it involves

A six-session course that teaches parents, teachers and caregivers to spot the warning signs of abuse, respond without re-traumatizing the child, and follow the reporting process to the end.

Most adults sense when something is wrong and freeze, because nobody ever taught them the next step. The course covers warning signs, the language of care, reporting pathways, crisis response, discipline without violence, and how a community keeps protection going after the workshop ends. In Florida it is delivered in English and Spanish, and it maps the local mandatory-reporting duties that apply to teachers, coaches and medical staff.
